Your Mission: Day to Day Responsibilities
1. Discovery & Business Understanding
Lead conversations with founders, operators, and team leads
Map out current workflows across departments (sales, ops, finance, marketing, etc.)
Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and manual processes
Ask sharp questions to uncover how things actually work (not just how they’re described)
2. Opportunity Identification
Determine what can be:
Automated
Augmented with AI
Eliminated or simplified
Evaluate opportunities across:
Off-the-shelf tools (Zapier, Make, GPT workflows, etc.)
Custom AI/agent-based solutions
Prioritize based on:
ROI
Speed to implement
Business impact
3. AI Automation Roadmap Creation
Produce a structured deliverable that includes:
Current state workflow breakdown
Identified automation opportunities
Recommended solutions (tools, agents, systems)
Implementation plan (phased rollout)
Estimated impact (time savings, cost savings, revenue lift)
This is the core output of your work.
4. Handoff + Oversight
Translate roadmap into clear specs for implementation team
Collaborate with engineers / builders executing the work
Provide light project oversight to ensure alignment with original vision
Adjust roadmap as needed based on technical constraints or new insights
Your Toolbox: Skills to be Successful
You’re a strong fit if you:
Think in systems and workflows, not just tools
Can quickly understand how a business operates
Are both analytical and practical
Can communicate clearly with both non-technical stakeholders and technical teams
Ideal Background
Experience in consulting, operations, product, or systems design
Strong understanding of:
AI tools (LLMs, agents, automation platforms)
Workflow automation (Zapier, Make, APIs, etc.)
Ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured plans
Comfortable leading client-facing conversations
Bonus Points
Experience building or implementing automations yourself
Background in startups, agencies, or operational roles
Familiarity with e-commerce, service businesses, or SMBs
Experience writing clear documentation / specs
